My heart is still heavy from the election results, and I am sure I will be processing these feelings over time. However, it’s been less than 48 hours and I am already seeing a very concerning trend online: self-proclaimed herbalists sharing recipes to assist in the termination of pregnancy. Beyond the fact that these human carrion are capitalizing on tragedy, whether for “likes” or actual sales, this is incredibly irresponsible. What happens to the women who ingest herbal abortifacients, become ill, and are then unable to seek medical assistance because of the already draconian laws in their respective states? I understand that many of us are reeling and afraid about what the next years will bring, but I am begging folks to understand that herbal remedies are complex, that it is not as simple as brewing a cup of chamomile tea, and that folks should never blindly follow “medical” information from the internet, always consult with a professional.

I agree with you about being careful about “herbal” remedies for unwanted pregnancy. Caution is key. Some of those remedies could cause more harm if not properly blended and brewed.
