Tarot for Mindfulness: Welcoming a New Year

Tarot for Mindfulness: Welcoming a New Year

Hey friends! I had a most enjoyable winter break, enjoying time spent with family, many delicious meals cooked by my husband, playing board games, going to see Robert Eggers’s Nosferatu (it was gorgeous!), and truly catching up on my rest. In fact, I felt excited to get back into the studio this week and am working on some exciting new things! But before I share all that’s coming up, I thought I’d share a bit of Tarot for Mindfulness to welcome the new year…

With 2024 fresh in my mind, I’m working on a SWOT analysis for the business. I’ve shared a bit about my SWOT process in the past, but for those unfamiliar, a SWOT analysis is a personal assessment of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats facing a business or endeavor. I really appreciate an honest assessment, as it will only help HWB in the long run, but I also like to mix in some magic and mindfulness with a SWOT-inspired tarot spread! Journaling on what arises can be a very illuminating experience, and offers a lovely opportunity for mindfulness in my work.

  1. Strengths (internal)
  2. Weaknesses (internal)
  3. Opportunities (external)
  4. Threats (external)

In addition to the professionally-focused SWOT spread, I also did a personal 13-card Wheel of the Year spread for 2025, as I do every year…

Cards 1 – 12 are the individual months of the year, with card 13 being the year as a whole.

For my 2025 spread, I used UUSI’s “Pagan Otherworlds Tarot,” a personal favorite of mine…

Temperance feels apt for January, no? And there is certainly much on the horizon!

🖤 Kate
