As I’ve shared before, I’m a proud cat lady! We rescued a litter of 5—Edmund, Vera, Nigel, St. John, and Flossie—and you’ll occasionally catch glimpses of them on social media. Living with cats is uniquely magical. They occupy a special place in mythology and the collective conscious, and it’s been shown that companionate animals have positive effects on our mental health, particularly for LGBTQ folks (citation). In honor of my munchkins’s birthday today, I’m sharing a couple items that benefit a cause near to my heart, our local no-kill animal shelter! Proceeds from the purchases of The Little Book of Cat Magic by Deborah Blake and the adorable enamel cat pins from Holly Oddly will be donated to the Jefferson County SPCA. 😻
