Hello friends, and solstice blessings! The summer solstice occurs in the northern hemisphere on Tuesday June 21 at 5:13 am eastern. The longest day of the year also marks the start of Cancer season, and has been celebrated across cultures for millennia. (For those who share similar ancestry or just an interest in Celtic folklore, the podcast Blúiríní Béaloidis has a great episode on Midsummer festivities!)

The shop is always closed on Tuesdays, and so I will be celebrating in my own way, but we will reopen with our regular hours Wednesday. We have two great special events this week, beginning with a 1000 Islands River Pride collaboration with Chateay on Friday, with freebies for our first 12 guests and in-store specials all day; and then on Saturday, a fundraiser for our local library, so don’t miss out!
