We reopened the storefront this weekend, and what a busy whirlwind it was! I’m so thankful for everyone who stopped in, and I look forward to seeing more of y’all over time!
Leading up to the shop’s reopening, my mind was in a hundred different places— “scatterbrained” doesn’t begin to cover it. I think one of the challenging things about being a small business owner is how you’re often called to put out multiple tiny fires, so to speak, and when you’re both CEO and janitor, the “to do” list can feel never-ending. Because of this it can be oh-so-easy to overlook the victories.
This year, Hedge Witch Botanicals turns 6, and I honestly can’t believe how this business has grown. Over the past 5 years I have made such incredible connections, and I’ve made lasting friendships with people I may never have met otherwise. I have interviewed nearly 2 dozen magical souls for my series Tending the Hedge, including some of my dear friends and a personal literary icon, Kristen Sollée. I’ve had some of the most beautiful and humbling experiences holding space for folks as a tarot reader. I’ve been awarded a grant for women in business that has furthered my education— and I have learned so, so much.
I consider myself incredibly privileged to be able to do what I do, and I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helps make this witchy dream possible, especially my friends and family, who have been my most ardent supporters. You’re all the tops. 🖤
