It’s been some time since I shared a more personal update regarding the HWB universe— while there was a time where every step of the journey was documented and shared, over the past year or so I’ve been feeling a shift in my life and my work— but I do have some important news!
I’ve been very open about the fact that I have been in treatment for PTSD for some time— I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say that therapy has saved my life. It’s been a lot of work, and it’s certainly an ongoing process, but I’m in a very different place than I was a year ago, let alone when I started HWB more than 6 years ago.
Through therapy and hard work, I opened myself up to a possibility I never imagined— I fell in love. I met someone who shows me in a million different ways that I am appreciated, supported, and loved. This week we moved into our first (rental) home together. I really didn’t think that romantic love, partnership, and cohabitation were in the cards for me, but life is full of surprises.
And so it feels only natural that HWB is growing and changing, too. I feel more connected to myself, my goals, and my vision for this business than ever before. I love doing what I do, and I want to do more of what I love.
That’s why October is going to be my last month of working at and managing Chateau. Customers will still be able to find HWB goodies at Chateau, but I personally will be taking a huge leap into the unknown— I’m taking on HWB full-time while my partner and I are looking for land for the future home of Hedge Witch Farms. It has been a dream of mine to grow my own herbs and to keep bees, and I am incredibly lucky to have found a partner who not only shares my goals but who works incredibly hard to make them a reality.
Sharing a storefront with an established business has been so beneficial, and I am forever grateful for Chateau’s support and guidance. Through this business, the relationships I’ve cultivated and the connections I’ve made have shown me that this is what I love to do— sharing my craft, a love of the handmade, a passion for natural herbal medicine. As we hustle to find a forever-home for HWB, I’ll maintain the online store and as I mentioned, the full HWB line will still be available at Chateau. And depending on where we end up, I look forward to more farmers markets and craft fairs in the future!
All this is to say— thank you to all who have supported HWB in its current incarnation, and stay tuned, I think the future is looking bright.
