Hi friends! I don’t want to be that person that’s all “oh, I’ve gone off social media and I’m suddenly enlightened,” but in the brief months I’ve spent off all meta platforms, I really have been more conscious of my time spent online, and am appreciating my “unplugged” time even more. But without that resource for sharing with my witchy community, along with my newsletter (sign up here!) I’ll be continuing this semi-regular roundup of some of the bits, bobs, and bites that I’ve enjoyed in the past moon cycle!
The biggest news in HWB-land is that we are several steps closer to realizing a huge dream: the future Hedge Witch Farms has finally found a home!
Garun and I have been looking all over Upstate New York for the perfect location for our future homestead (I shared a bit about the strange process before here), and after lots of looking, many texts to our incredible real estate agent Michelle, and more than a few headaches, our offer on some land has finally been accepted! It’s off to the banks and lawyers now, and there are so many steps between where we are and being fully operational, but we are very excited about this news.

What I’m reading
This month I was absolutely engrossed by Octavia E. Butler’s The Parable of the Sower and The Parable of the Talents. These were both incredible, and there is so much to unpack with both novels. Because I’ve been quite busy, I have yet to write their #spellbooksaturday features, but stay tuned!
Practical Self Reliance’s “30+ Perennial Vegetables We Grow on our Permaculture Homestead” …because we’re deep in planning mode!
Past Tending the Hedge featured magic-maker Nora’s musings on laundry were lovely and thoughtful.
Rebekah King’s “Nosferatu and the Solomonic Magician”
I absolutely loved Eggers’s Nosferatu, and King provided some very interesting insights!
What I’m watching
Like many folks, we recently watched Netflix’s “Adolescence,” and while I think episode 3 comes close to achieving perfection in storytelling, I agree with Kate Manne’s assertion “‘Adolescence’ Has a Missing Victim Problem.”

What I’m eating
Getting over food poisoning was brutal, but oh my gosh, reintroducing food was absolutely glorious! Seriously, nothing tastes as good as the first meal for which you’re actually hungry after nearly 4 days of sickness. I don’t recommend getting sick, but take a moment to savor whatever you’re eating today.
What I’m doing
In addition to distributing Plan C stickers wherever possible…
